Sanibel reopens to public for first time since Hurricane Ian
Sanibel, a popular tourist and snowbird destination, has only been accessible to residents (with an entry pass) since Sept. 28. Rachel Pierce Art Gallery, located in the 1500 block of Periwinkle Way, opened in January 2022. "My windows all caved in and everything got sucked out," Pierce said.
