The San Francisco Giants have claimed infielder Shea Whitcomb, who was placed on waivers by the Houston Astros. Whitcomb played for the South Korean national team in this year's WBC alongside Lee Jung-hoo, and with this signing, the two players will now play for the same team. Whitcomb has been assigned to the Sacramento River Cats, the team's Triple-A affiliate, and plans to aim for a promotion to the major leagues in the future.
