Global Market: South Korean shares surge as Samsung, SK Hynix rally on AI optimism
South Korean shares rose sharply on Wednesday, led by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix as optimism over artificial intelligence supported semiconductor stocks. The KOSPI gained 1.44%, while the won strengthened against the US dollar and Korean government bond yields edged lower. Foreign investors, however, remained net sellers of South Korean equities.
