Salesforce suffers global outage amid Dreamforce shindig
Salesforce said increased load on a core system component limited request processing, leaving customers with delays, errors and blocked support cases.
On Sept 16, 2026, Salesforce suffered a global outage affecting hundreds of instances across the USA, Japan, India, France, and Germany, causing severe delays and intermittent errors for customers worldwide.
The outage occurred as Salesforce kicked off its annual Dreamforce conference in San Francisco yesterday, hosting more than 40,000 in-person attendees and in excess of 200,000 people registered online.
Investigation by Salesforce indicated that 'requests are stalling while waiting on a response from an internal login service, which is using up available server resources,' while also affecting support case creation.
The company is testing a fix on one instance after identifying increased load on a core system component limited capacity, and it is 'no longer pursuing restarts as a path to remediation.'
Because Dreamforce acts as a primary marketing tool for the SaaS vendor, the roughly three-hour disruption created significant inconvenience, though the issue resolved before most of the United States woke up.
