Sacramento restaurants retain Michelin Stars, others recognized on California guide
Michelin said Californios earned the guide’s top rating as California added two new three-star restaurants and nine first-time one-star winners.
On Wednesday, the Michelin Guide awarded San Francisco restaurant Californios three stars, making it the first Mexican restaurant in the United States to receive the guide's highest rating.
During the San Diego awards ceremony, inspectors also elevated Sonoma restaurant Enclos to three stars, bringing California's total count of top-rated establishments to 10.
Los Angeles restaurant Kato earned a second star, while nine establishments including San Francisco restaurant Naides and Beverly Hills restaurant Miura received their first Michelin star.
While most existing stars were retained, several prominent establishments including Los Angeles restaurant 715 and Los Angeles restaurant Camphor lost their rankings, though no three- or two-star restaurants were demoted.
Michelin announced its 2026 guide will expand to the American Southwest, Great Lakes region, and South Australia, broadening the restaurant rating system's global reach beyond California.
