WASHINGTON - The United States is considering frigate designs from South Korea, Japan and Turkey for a new class of warships, a news report said Wednesday, as it is seeking cooperation with trusted allies to rebuild its navy and shipbuilding industry.
Turkey has emerged as one of the countries attracting attention in the US's search for new warships. USNI News, the publication of the US Naval Institute, reported that the White House and the US Navy are reviewing existing designs from allied countries for a new class of frigate.
