TORONTO — Canada's main stock index rose over 300 points on Tuesday, helped by gains in basic materials and technology stocks, while U.S. markets posted mixed results.
The S&P/TSX composite index was up 326.21 points at 36,335.61.
The Toronto Stock Exchange earned more than 200 points on Tuesday late in the morning, backed by the strength of the technology and base metals sectors, while the major U.S. indices were in dispersed order.
