S&P/TSX composite down more than 200 points, U.S. stock markets also trade lower
Technology, telecommunications and industrial shares weighed on the decline as the Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq also finished lower.

In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average dropped 628.18 points to 52,786.07, while the Nasdaq composite fell 85.58 points to 26,421.41.
The October crude oil contract rose US$1.55 to US$93.03 per barrel, while The December gold contract fell US$37.60 to US$4,439.00 per ounce.
Regarding exchange rates, The Canadian traded for 72.55 cents US, showing a slight increase from 72.25 cents US reported on Friday.
Weakness in the technology, telecommunications, and industrial sectors weighed heavily on market performance, serving as a primary driver for the day's losses.
