The Calgary Flames lost one of their key defenceman in Saturday’s contest. Zach Whitecloud exited early against the Carolina Hurricanes with an upper-body injury after a collision with Nikolaj Ehlers. The 29-year-old was acquired by the Flames from the Vegas Golden Knights in the Rasmus Andersson trade in late January. He’s accumulated four assists in 13 games with Calgary, and had seven points with Vegas before the move.
