The CROATIAN tennis player eliminated American Kayla Day.
Antonia entered the duel with Day very well and won the first three games. Ružić took the lead 4-1, but in the seventh game, Day returned the 'break' of the deficit, and then evened it at 4-4, saving two break balls.
Ružić will face eighth seed Katie Boulter (WTA - 58th) of Britain on Friday for a place in the semifinals. This will be their first match against each other, and is scheduled for 4:30 a.m. Central European Time.
