Russia to show Su-57E with new weapon at Egypt airshow
Rostec will show the export jet’s new weapon and aerobatic display as the airshow draws more than 200 exhibitors, organizers said.
- Rostec will unveil previously undisclosed weaponry on its Su-57E fighter at the El Alamein International Airshow 2026 in Egypt next week, running September 8 to 10.
- Although neither Moscow nor Algiers has officially confirmed the deal, Algeria is widely reported as the first export customer for the Su-57E, which United Aircraft Corporation previously exhibited in China and other markets.
- Rosoboronexport, Russia's state arms export agency, is organizing the Russian exhibit at the El Alamein International Airshow, which expects over 10,000 visitors and more than 200 exhibitors from across Africa and the Middle East.
- During the DSA-2026 exhibition in Kuala Lumpur in April, Rosoboronexport signed additional export agreements for the Su-57E without disclosing the buyer nations or aircraft numbers.
- Egypt previously halted a planned purchase of roughly 30 Su-35 fighters in 2021 and 2022 amid sanctions concerns, with some jets built for that canceled order later redirected toward Iran.
