Russia to show Su-57E with new weapon at Egypt airshow
Rostec will show the export jet’s new weapon and aerobatic display as the airshow draws more than 200 exhibitors, organizers said.
- Rostec will unveil undisclosed new weaponry on its Su-57E fighter at the El Alamein International Airshow 2026 next week, running September 8 to 10 in Egypt.
- Although neither Moscow nor Algiers has officially confirmed the deal, Algeria is widely reported as the Su-57E's first export customer; the United Aircraft Corporation previously exhibited the jet in China.
- Rosoboronexport is organizing the Russian exhibit at the El Alamein International Airshow, which expects over 10,000 visitors and more than 200 exhibitors from across Africa and the Middle East.
- During the DSA-2026 exhibition in Kuala Lumpur in April, Rosoboronexport signed additional export agreements for the Su-57E without disclosing the countries or aircraft numbers involved.
- Egypt previously halted a planned purchase of roughly 30 Su-35 fighters in 2021 and 2022 amid U.S. sanctions concerns, with some jets reportedly redirected toward Iran.
