Russian regional officials say Ukraine attacked Kursk, Belgorod regions
Russian officials said the drone strikes injured 5 people and damaged homes as both sides accused each other of breaking the truce.
- On Saturday, April 11, regional officials reported that drone attacks in the Kursk and Belgorod regions injured five people, allegedly violating a ceasefire.
- Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a 32-hour truce on Thursday, and his counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, agreed to abide by the measure despite previous failed attempts at halting the conflict.
- Detailing the damage, Alexander Khinshtein claimed a drone struck a petrol station in Lgov, injuring three, while Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported two injured in Shebekino and Grayvoron. Khinshtein stated, "The enemy's sneaky attack occurred after 4 pm during the declared Easter truce."
- Meanwhile, Oleksandr Hanzha, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, claimed the military executed more than 60 strikes. Zelensky maintained he would continue to honor the agreement despite the alleged infringements.
- Reuters could not independently verify reports of military activity, and historical patterns show both sides frequently accused each other of infringements during similar ceasefires agreed upon in previous years.
