All Blacks Hit by Another Injury Blow as Ollie Norris Ruled Out of Tour
Norris is expected to miss about six weeks as New Zealand Rugby prepares to name a replacement prop.
On Monday, All Blacks prop Ollie Norris returned home after sustaining a knee cartilage injury during the South African tour, becoming the fourth squad member to depart due to injury.
All Blacks coach Dave Rennie faces mounting roster disruption before Saturday's test against the world champion Springboks at Ellis Park, with Norris sidelined for about six weeks and multiple starters ruled out.
Highlanders tighthead prop Saula Mau was called into the squad as Norris's replacement, joining recent arrivals Richie Mounga with 56 tests and Noah Hotham as injury cover for halfback Cortez Ratima.
Despite roster changes, New Zealand attack coach Mike Blair said confidence within the camp remains high, stating "when we do get it, we've got to be right on" against South Africa.
The four-test series in Rugby's Greatest Rivalry begins this Saturday at Ellis Park, with captain Ardie Savea returning after being rested during the tour's opening matches.
