Police searching across Southern Interior for missing Trail man
Investigators say the closure followed a search warrant at a Highway 3B property as they probe the unexplained disappearance of Trail resident Mark Konrad.
On Wednesday, RCMP confirmed that Monday's multi-hour closure of the Rossland hill on Highway 3B was linked to the ongoing investigation into the suspicious disappearance of Trail resident Mark Konrad.
The Southeast District Major Crime Unit executed a search warrant June 1 at a property near Warfield as part of the investigation into Konrad's disappearance.
Mark Konrad, a 51-year-old Trail man, has not been seen since late June 2025, leaving his disappearance unexplained as investigators work to determine what happened.
Brett Urano said investigators "continue to make inquiries" across the Southern Interior, specifically in Kelowna, Castlegar, Grand Forks, Warfield, and Trail.
Authorities have urged anyone who had contact with Konrad in 2025 to call the Southeast District Major Crime Unit information line at 1-877-987-8477.
