According to a survey by tbi bank, about 48% of Romanians are constantly saving, of which 46% manage to put away at most 500 lei per month, and 16% can't put up even 1 lei. Also, around 23% claim that they could cover their expenses for less than a month, if they would remain without the main source of income, and 22% would last between 1 and 3 months, according to News.ro.
At the same time, more than 22% do not currently save or need to use the previously accumulated reserves.
