Rockefeller Foundation Awarded US$350M+ to Reach 731 Million People Amid 2025's Historic Decline in Global Aid
The report says the foundation awarded more than $350 million and helped mobilize $32 billion in capital for programs reaching 731 million people.
On Monday, The Rockefeller Foundation released its 2025 impact report, "Big Bets, Real Results," highlighting $32 billion in total capital mobilized and more than $350 million awarded across 235 grants to vulnerable populations globally.
Amid a volatile global landscape and historic decline in global aid, the 113-year-old Foundation focused on "Big Bets" across three strategic pillars to bridge gaps between innovation and adoption for lasting impact.
The Foundation's initiatives reached 731 million people worldwide, including AI-powered disease alerts in Colombia that protected 2.2 million people from mosquito-borne viruses and clean energy investments connecting thousands in India and Haiti to reliable electricity.
President Dr. Rajiv J. Shah stated "it is still possible to deliver results at scale," while Senior Vice President William Asiko said frontier technology provides "essential lifelines" for securing livelihoods across the region.
As the Foundation marks 60 years of its Africa Regional Office, it continues leveraging artificial intelligence and scientific breakthroughs to address persistent challenges while prioritizing community-driven development strategies globally.
