The Cure's Robert Smith Promises More Concerts and New Music in 2027
Smith said the band’s next shows will feature new material after a 29-date summer tour and a 2024 comeback album.
The Cure frontman Robert Smith announced on Tuesday that the band will tour in 2027, promising setlists "bursting with new songs" during a message to BBC Radio 6 Music.
Smith shared the 2027 teaser while celebrating a monumental 2026, reflecting on 29 Cure shows including performances at Primavera Sound Barcelona and the Rock En Seine festival in Paris.
Regarding new material, Smith explained the band recorded three albums' worth of songs, with the first "more dismal than 'Songs Of A Lost World'" and the third "really poppy" and upbeat.
While Smith confirmed 2027 dates, he noted he is "not allowed to say where or when yet." Fans in North America and South America, unseen for three years, may be on the itinerary.
Smith envisions celebrations continuing until The Cure's 50th anniversary in 2028, following a successful 2026 festival run that featured a duet with Olivia Rodrigo at Primavera Sound Barcelona.
