The video shows one of the protesters trying to remove the other from the protest area, while the other protester fights him, and finally pulls out a can of pepper spray and sprays him. The police who arrived at the scene arrested the suspects, a 45-year-old resident of Ramat Gan and a 75-year-old resident of Kiryat Tivon, and took them to the police station for questioning.
The incident occurred during a protest against the government in Habima Square. Former Shin Bet chief Ami Ayalon said in a speech at the rally: "The war blinds us, we are no longer a democracy." Reut Hecht, mother of the late Lieutenant Ido Edri, called on the Prime Minister to establish a state investigation committee: "Won't you establish one? Find out what a real war is."
