François Bayrou said on Sunday 29 June that the executive would take up his responsibilities after the failure of the discussions between the social partners on pension reform. He would resume the points of agreement which had emerged from the exchanges at the beginning of the year. He did not decide at this stage on his arbitrations as to the issues which had blocked a final agreement.
