After TET Paper Leak, State Forms High-Level Committee to Make Exams Secure
The panel will consult students and officials statewide as Maharashtra moves to tighten paper-leak rules and build 25,000 secure classrooms for exams.
On Wednesday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced a high-level committee to recommend comprehensive reforms for government recruitment examinations, led by General Administration Department Additional Chief Secretary V. Radha.
This reform initiative follows the Teacher Eligibility Test paper leak in Bhiwandi and protests over NEET irregularities, which led to the cancellation of the June 28 examination.
Fadnavis directed the government to establish at least 25,000 secure classrooms across Maharashtra for recruitment examinations to plug loopholes and prevent malpractice.
Authorities will implement the more stringent Public Examinations Amendment Act within two weeks to increase penalties for examination-related offenses.
Enhanced coordination among district collectors, police commissioners, and senior Education Department officials will form the foundation for a comprehensive state policy on recruitment examinations.
Maharashtra Government: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has decided to constitute a high-level committee for comprehensive, more secure and consensual reforms in the examination system for various service recruitments in the state.
