LITTLE ROCK — A longtime former college administrator was named Friday to serve as interim system president for the Arkansas State University system.

A couple of days after Arkansas State University System President Brendan Kelly announced his plans to take over as president of his alma mater, Eastern Michigan University, early next year, the ASU System board of trustees expedited his resignation and named an interim president.
