Santiago. Republican ultra-rightist José Antonio Kast, with 58.1 percent of the intention of voting, became Chile’s elected president yesterday by winning the second round of elections over the center-left candidate, Communist militant Jeannette Jara, who won 41.8 percent of the votes.
