Black Press Media projects a Conservative majority as the party leads in 63 of 93 ridings with 49% of the vote.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, voters across British Columbia cast ballots in the snap provincial election called one month ago by NDP Leader David Eby to determine the province's next government.
Eby initiated the snap election on Sept. 22, 2026, to end frustrations of a "stalled out" legislature where the NDP held a one-seat majority while facing a resurgent Conservative Party of B.C.
Elections BC is hand-counting ballots cast on Saturday due to the snap election's logistical constraints, while advance votes were tabulated electronically; nearly 900,000 voters, or 24 per cent of registered voters, cast ballots in advance polls.
Early results showed the Conservatives leading in 63 of 93 ridings for 49 per cent of the vote as of 9 p.m., with gains reported in battleground areas across the province.
Reaching a 47-seat majority in the 93-seat legislature remains the path to power, with Surrey—where Conservatives held six of 10 ridings—emerging as pivotal to the final outcome.
