TB is a bacterial infection which is spread through the air when a person with it coughs, sneezes or spits. Researchers have discovered the genes that help TB cells survive despite being exposed to antibiotics. They say disrupting these genes could lead to new drugs that shorten TB treatment and reduce antimicrobial resistance.
