- Taylor's office called for Capitol Police to intervene, labeled the act vandalism, pledged full cooperation, and said the flag was taken down after an internal investigation found no employee knowingly displayed it.
- The Enquirer sought evidence and asked which other lawmakers were targeted, but Taylor's spokesperson did not immediately respond, and Rep. Dave Taylor did not say if Angelo Elia remained employed.
