The number of reports handled by the Montreal Youth Protection Directorate (YPD) increased three times as much as in the rest of Quebec in 2025-2026, shows the results of the various YPDs presented on Thursday in Quebec City.
In the last year, 3,230 reports were processed for 15,958 children on the North Shore, representing 9 children a day. This represents a decrease of 9.2% compared to last year for the region.
