Markus Marterbauer is to become the new finance minister. This has been confirmed by the Austrian Press Agency from SPÖ-Kreisen. The 60-year-old economist is regarded as a representative of the left wing and has worked among other things as Vice President of the Fiscal Council and in Wifo and most recently of the Chamber of Labour.
