Deputies and medical personnel responded to the report of a possible dead infant outside of a business on South 9th Street near Highway 99 around 3:40 p.m.

MODESTO, California – Modesto authorities found a possible human fetus outside a business on Monday afternoon. The report was received around 3:40 p.m. at 800 block on 9th Street. Upon arriving at the scene, the detectives found what appeared to be remains of a fetus and began the investigation. Detectives searched the area for evidence.
