Remains of Boone GI who died in Japanese POW camp ID’d, to be laid to rest

A World War II U.S. Army private from Seth, Boone County, West Virginia, whose remains were unidentified until last year — 83 years after he died in a Japanese POW camp in the Philippines — will be buried with full military rites on May 6, 2026 near the graves of his parents and siblings in Bloomingrose, Boone County.
