Kim Kardashian's SKIMS Enters India with Reliance Brands, to Open First Stores in Delhi and Mumbai
The deal expands Reliance Retail’s foreign brand portfolio as SKIMS targets India’s Gen Z and millennial shoppers with phased store and digital growth.
On Wednesday, Reliance Brands Limited announced an exclusive partnership with SKIMS, the shapewear and lifestyle brand co-founded by Kim Kardashian, to launch the label in India.
Valued at $5 billion, SKIMS has been expanding its global retail footprint after raising $225 million in funding, with recent store openings in London and Dubai.
SKIMS will launch stores in Delhi and Mumbai, marking the brand's first standalone brick-and-mortar presence in Asia, adding to Reliance Retail's portfolio including Rihanna's Fenty Beauty.
Reliance Retail Ventures Limited Director Isha Ambani said the brand "speaks directly to a new generation of Indian consumers" seeking fashion that blends comfort with aspiration.
Indian beauty retailer Nykaa also teamed up with Rare Beauty this year, reflecting a broader trend of local retailers bringing celebrity-backed brands to the country while SKIMS competes with homegrown labels including Underneat.
