- On Monday, July 27, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District will issue an evacuation order for 70 Mile House and surrounding areas at 10 a.m. due to the projected growth of the Pear Lake wildfire.
- The Pear Lake wildfire merged with the Fiftynine Creek blaze overnight July 25/26, creating a massive complex that impacted Highway 97 near Chasm and forced earlier evacuations in the Village of Clinton.
- Mapping by the BC Wildfire Service shows the Pear Lake wildfire spans 66,871 hectares, with gusts up to 40 km/h driving Rank 4 and 5 fire behavior including active crown fire and spotting.
- After 10 a.m. Monday, Emergency Support Services will provide temporary assistance including accommodation, food, and other basic supports to residents affected by the evacuation order.
- The BC Wildfire Service anticipates further fire growth as fuels remain heavily impacted by drought throughout the central Interior, with more smoke likely in afternoons and evenings.
