Reds-Cardinals Series Finale Game Postponed as Scattered Storms Move Through Region
A brief rain delay forced the finale off the schedule, and the teams will meet again Aug. 17 at 1:40 p.m., the Reds said.
On Sunday, the Cincinnati Reds postponed their series finale against the Cardinals at Great American Ballpark due to rain, with the game originally scheduled for 1:40 p.m. and Reds starting pitcher Brady Singer set to take the mound.
Severe weather also forced Friday's series opener postponement, requiring the National League Central rivals to play a doubleheader on Saturday where the Cardinals won 8-1 and the Reds rebounded with a 7-6 victory in 11 innings.
Jordan Walker leads the Cardinals with 42 RBIs and 15 home runs, while the Cardinals hold a 29-22 record compared to Cincinnati's 27-25 record heading into the rescheduled matchup.
The Reds announced the postponed contest will be rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader on August 17 at 1:40 p.m., marking the second weather-related schedule change for the series.
Cincinnati travels to New York City on Monday to begin a series against the Mets, while the Reds and Cardinals are scheduled to meet again at Busch Stadium later in the season.
