Red River Biorefinery, closed for environmental violations, being sold to private buyer

The plant was built to convert agricultural waste, such as sugarbeet tailings, into fuel-grade ethanol, animal feed and renewable natural gas. Red River Biorefinery planned to process 500,000 metric tons of agricultural by-products per year.
