Hyundai Recalls 96K Tucson SUVs as Dashboards May Go Blank
Hyundai said the defect can erase speed, fuel and warning data, and no crashes or injuries have been linked to the issue.
Hyundai recalled 96,310 SUVs, including 2025-2026 Tucson models, due to a software error affecting the instrument panel display.
The software error causes the instrument panel to reboot while driving, leaving drivers unable to see the speedometer, gas gauge, or heads-up display.
Affected units include 53,886 Tucson Hybrid models, 39,605 Tucsons, and 2,819 Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid vehicles, assigned internal recall number 304.
Owners will receive notification by mail after Aug. 22 regarding free repairs through dealer or over-the-air updates; consumers may also verify eligibility on the NHTSA website.
Separately, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration noted a prior recall of 421,000 Hyundai Tucson and Santa Cruz models for a braking glitch, with no crashes attributed to either issue.
