Readers respond: Permit, prioritize and incentivize more housing

Summary by The Oregonian
We moved to Oregon in the mid-1980s and purchased our starter home in Beaverton for about $65,000. I recently looked up that 40-year-old house and was shocked to see its value estimated at well over half a million dollars. The increase is almost two times the consumer price index and income growth. Renting does not seem to offer relief either.
