RDBN issues evacuation alert due to flooding concerns near Smithers

SMITHERS, B.C. — The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako (RDBN) has issued an Evacuation Alert for the Dohler Flats Area near Smithers because of growing concerns about ice dams on the Bulkley River. The alert took effect at 4:00 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 28) evening and it applies to all lands, properties and houses north of Dohler Road, as well as areas south of Dohler Road that are east of Rosenthal Subdivision Road.
