COURTENAY, BRITISH COLUMBIA, JUL 1 – Derrick Bullen faces charges including uttering threats and firearm offenses after police found a gun during a search warrant executed with specialized RCMP teams.
- In the early hours of July 1, 2025, the Comox Valley RCMP carried out a warrant-backed operation at a home in Courtenay.
- Police responded after receiving reports on June 30 of direct and serious threats, some of which were observed firsthand by an officer present at the scene.
- The execution of the search warrant was carried out with support from specialized units including tactical officers, canine teams, negotiators, and frontline personnel, resulting in four arrests and the seizure of a firearm.
- Of the four individuals taken into custody, 42-year-old Derrick Bullen is charged with making threats, illegally having a firearm, and possessing a firearm despite being legally barred from doing so.
- Bullen remains in police custody pending his next court date, with all charges yet to be proven in court.
