In 2022, the Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) had fallen into a crisis, among other things because of allegations of nepotism and waste. A new state contract imposed new obligations on the station in the following year – according to the Federal Constitutional Court, this is also the case in this form.
After the Schlesinger scandal, Berlin and Brandenburg conclude a new state contract for the RBB. The station has to suspend some of the new regulations and moves to the Federal Constitutional Court - unsuccessfully.
The RBB failed in its constitutional appeal against its own state treaty before the Federal Constitutional Court. As the court announced on Thursday, the judges rejected the complaint because it was largely unfounded.
