Raye Royal Albert Hall Show "Overwhelmed by Scalpers Using AI Bots" After Receiving Nearly 2million Sign-Ups
RAYE said her team will manually review sign-ups after scalpers used AI bots to create hundreds of thousands of fake registrations for 5,000 seats.
On Tuesday, singer RAYE announced her team is manually reviewing ticket sign-ups for her October 23 Royal Albert Hall performance after AI bots generated hundreds of thousands of fake registrations for just 5,000 seats.
Titled 'This Symphony May Contain Hope,' the one-off concert features an orchestral reworking of the musician's sophomore album with the Heritage Orchestra, following her recent chart-topping success.
The singer received 1.8 million sign-ups for just 5,000 seats, prompting RAYE to bypass a standard pre-sale to prevent exploitation by ticket resellers.
Selected applicants were set to receive pre-sale access codes via email at 11:45am BST on Tuesday, while any remaining tickets will be released to the public during a later general sale.
The 28-year-old artist said this experience 'really opened my eyes' regarding ticketing issues, adding that she and her team must reconsider future strategies to protect fans.
