At Heritage Auctions, the 1879 coin was sold for $1.9 million. The denomination of the banknote is 400 cents. The obverse is marked with Freedom with a braided braid (there is also a version of Freedom with loose hair, but it is not so rare) and a headband with the inscription Liberty. The reverse depicts a five-pointed star with the words “One Stella”/“400 Cents” and other inscriptions. Coins of this edition are called “stellas” .Read more...
