Toronto Raptors Guard Quickley Out Day-to-Day with Hamstring Strain Ahead of Game 1 in Cleveland
The Raptors said Quickley will be monitored over the next 48 hours as they prepare for Game 1 against Cleveland.
The Toronto Raptors announced Monday that guard Immanuel Quickley is day-to-day with a mild hamstring strain, putting his status in doubt for the team's playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Quickley, who missed games recently with plantar fasciitis, sustained the hamstring injury during the regular season finale against the Brooklyn Nets after playing 17 minutes.
Head coach Darko Rajakovic recently described Quickley as the team's best on-ball defender, while the Raptors' offensive rating drops from 117.5 to 114.4 when he is off the court.
The Raptors' medical staff will monitor Quickley's response to treatment over the next 48 hours, with his practice participation later this week serving as the primary indicator for the series opener.
If Quickley remains unavailable for the series opener in Cleveland, the team may start Jamal Shead while looking for increased playmaking from Barrett and Scottie Barnes.
