Europe's Largest Rainwater Pump on Vienna Danube Island

Vienna Kanal started the installation of a 63-ton rainwater pump at the Danube Island pump plant on Monday. With a capacity of 15,000 litres per second, it is the most powerful plant in Europe, according to the press. The project, which will be completed in 2026, is intended to improve flood protection for the districts of Floridsdorf and Donaustadt, said Climate City Councillor Jürgen Czernohorszky (SPÖ).
