After the renovation, long-distance traffic has been rolling on the first section since Friday morning. By 14 June, the entire route will be regularly put into service again. Ground frost had delayed work in winter by several weeks.

After months of construction work, trains have been operating again on the northern section of the Hamburg–Berlin railway line since 15 May.
