The Department of Environmental Protection is launching an annual campaign for fishermen on Tuesday called "Saugom lašišķu", which will aim to ensure the protection of salmon and smolt in their migration and spawning grounds.
Environmentalists will begin raids as part of the "We Protect Salmon" campaign on September 1, during which they will check compliance with salmon and smolt fishing requirements. The raids will last until November 20, the Environmental Protection Department (AAD) announced.
