- She was coming off a win in the April 12 Apple Blossom Handicap but was jostled between horses early, which may have affected her performance.
- Trainer Ken McPeek mentioned that she showed no clear signs of injury and suggested that the issue early in the first turn might have disrupted her performance, adding that the quick three-week interval between races could have been a questionable decision.
- McPeek reported that Thorpedo Anna was moving well on Saturday and plans to have imaging tests performed on her leg joints before she undergoes additional evaluation at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital.
- She will not be rushed back soon, reflecting caution following an uncharacteristically poor race after winning 10 of 13 starts with over $4 million in earnings.
