Racing Bulls: Alan Permane to Remain as Team Principal
The five-season deal keeps Permane in charge as Racing Bulls seeks stability while sorting its 2027 driver lineup, with three drivers in contention.
Racing Bulls announced on Saturday that team principal Alan Permane signed a long-term contract extension, retaining his position as Co-CEO Sporting until the end of the 2031 season.
Since joining the team in 2024, Permane was promoted to team principal in July 2025 when Laurent Mekies moved to Red Bull; he has led Racing Bulls to fifth in the Constructors' Championship, its highest finish since the team's 1985 foundation as Minardi.
Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff credited Permane's 34 years of Formula 1 experience for the team's progress, saying "Alan is doing a tremendous job, and the progress the team has made is a direct reflection of his experience, commitment and competitive mindset."
As Racing Bulls looks to finalize its 2027 driver lineup, CEO Peter Bayer stated that Permane will have the final say among three candidates: Arvid Lindblad, Liam Lawson, and Nikola Tsolov.
With four races remaining, the team holds a 39-point lead over Alpine; Permane emphasized he is "immensely proud to be continuing this journey" and aims to build on this momentum.
