Quebec City-area man arrested in terrorism investigation, released with conditions
A Quebec City-area man named Mohamed Ali Ben Chaoua was arrested in Lévis, Quebec, under a terrorism peace bond but was released with strict conditions including travel and contact restrictions.
The RCMP had reasonable grounds to fear Ben Chaoua might commit terrorism offences.
Ben Chaoua, aged 40, allegedly made multiple TikTok posts supporting the Islamic State terrorist entity.
No charges were made at the time of his release, but he must return to court on June 1 and could face charges later.
