The train line between Hamburg and Berlin is free again after a month-long general renovation.
As of today, the entire railway line between Hamburg and Hanover is closed. The railway renews tracks, switches and bridges. The construction work lasts until 10 July.
There are further restrictions for travellers between Hamburg and Hanover since Sunday: the route between Lüneburg and Hanover is closed. Long-distance and freight trains are diverted, while regional buses are sometimes used.
Berlin - The railway line between Berlin and Hamburg, which had been out of service since the beginning of last August, reopened today after a major overhaul. Czech Railways (ČD) services from Prague to northern Germany and on to Copenhagen can now run again on the main route. Trains were originally supposed to run on the repaired route from the beginning of May, but work was delayed due to the harsh winter.
Hamburg/Hannover (dpa) – Train travellers between Hamburg and Hanover have to adjust to further restrictions from today.
