QB Tyson Bagent Expected to Start Against Packers Sunday, Bears Coach Ben Johnson Tells ESPN1000
Tyson Bagent gets another start as Caleb Williams misses a third straight game with a hamstring strain.
- On Monday, Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson announced that Tyson Bagent will start at quarterback for Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. "Tyson will be the guy," Johnson said.
- Starting quarterback Caleb Williams remains sidelined with a Grade 2 hamstring injury suffered during the Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, with doctors estimating a three to four-week recovery time.
- Completing 25-of-34 passes for 268 yards and one interception, Bagent helped the Bears secure a 23-12 victory over the New York Jets last week in his first regular-season start.
- The Bears have improved to 3-1 on the season, remaining undefeated at 2-0 since Williams went down with his injury two weeks ago.
- Upcoming road visits to Atlanta and matchups against the Patriots on October 18 and 22 provide an opportunity to extend the winning streak to three games.
