The Qatari spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Majed al Ansari, said this Tuesday that he hopes that Tehran and Muscate will reach an agreement for navigation in the Strait of Ormuz, the main point of friction since the war in Iran, to resume negotiations with the United States for a ceasefire.
According to Qatar, peace negotiations could become "much easier" with a Hormuz agreement between Iran and Oman.
The Sultanate of Oman and Iran have been discussing the future management of the Strait of Ormuz for several weeks.
Qatar said today that it hopes that Iran and Oman will reach an agreement on navigation in the Strait of Ormuz, in order to resume negotiations with the United States (US) and reach a lasting ceasefire.
International mediators seek to unlock the dialogue between Washington and Tehran, while Iran keeps the strategic step closed.
